4.06 the raven

Seven is having dreams/hallucinations/flashbacks for the first time in her life, featuring Borg and a raven attacking her. It’s also time for her to begin taking in solid nutrients, and, while in the mess hall, she attacks Neelix, begins to revert to being Borg by sprouting more nanoprobes and shielding, and steals a shuttlecraft, heading for a homing beacon that she believes to be a Borg ship. She wishes to return to the collective. Voyager wants to pursue her, but she has headed into Bomar space, and the Bomar, being an annoying species, do not allow it. Tuvok and Paris are able to sneak through the Bomar border security in a shuttlecraft. Tuvok beams aboard Seven’s shuttle, and, after being beaten up, agrees to accompany her to the surface, as she is apprehensive and he does not believe there are any Borg there. What is there is a Federation ship – a ship named ‘The Raven’  - the ship upon which Seven was assimilated when she was a human girl named Annika. The ship is being attacked by the Bomar, and, just in time, Paris beams them to safety and Voyager takes off.

Nits: (1) There is a cutesy scene where Neelix coaches Seven on how to use a utensil, pick up food, chew it, and swallow it. In previous episodes, we learn that Seven possesses the knowledge of all the species the Borg have assimilated. Wouldn’t the knowledge of how to eat with a utensil and how to swallow already be available to her? (2) The Bomar are blasting ‘The Raven’ with some kind of phaser-like energy weapon. Seven and Tuvok are frantic to get outside the ship, as it is about to collapse. Not a bad strategy, except that the Bomar are intent on killing Seven, not the ship. When Seven and Tuvok finally get outside, they stand there, looking back at the ship as part of it falls over the cliff. Is this good strategy? Shouldn’t they immediately run for cover?
